Gretsch

From German heritage, Gretsch was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1883. The company were predominantly a Drum and Tamborine maker, also making Banjos until 12 years later founder Friedrich Gretsch died. The business was taken over by Friedrich’s entrepreneurial son Fred who realised that the future lay in Guitars. The business grew exponentially, to become the Guitar heavyweight it is today.
