Vocal Effects are a mainstay in much modern music, but historically, they are nothing new. Since the early 60's Bands like The Beatles have been adding interesting effects to the human voice. The 1970's witnessed the introduction of the Vocoder, sported by artists such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and later by Teddy Riley in the late 80's and 90's. Today Vocal Reverbs and Delays are used subtly, where Flangers, Phasers Vocoders create futuristic robot sounds. All with the use of these clever little boxes.
